The customary short hop back to the hire base on the final day.
The same day I purchased my first Windlass. I'd gone to the boatyard shop and bought a brand new one when the guy behind the counter asked if I actually wanted the one I'd been using on my holiday? Therefore I swapped my shiny new one for the slightly worn one on the hire boat which has been we me on every canal trip thereafter, finally being retired in 2014.
